Aclarubicin (Aclacinon; Aclacin; Aclaplastin; Aclacinomycine; Jaclacin. ACM; Aclacinomycin A) is a natually occuring oligosaccharide and anthracycline
anticancer antibiotic isolated from the bacterium Streptomyces
galilaeus. Aclarubicin is an inhibitor of topoisomerases I and II, acting by intercalating into DNA and interacting with
topoisomerases I and II, thereby inhibiting DNA replication and repair
and RNA and protein synthesis.
