TRIM9 is a tripartite motif containing protein that functions as an E3 ubiquitin ligase in the cerebral cortex. It is also known to modulate ventral guidance via the UNC-6/UNC-40 pathway. Repression of TRIM9 has been linked to disorders such as dementia with Lewy bodies and Parkinson′s disease.

The protein encoded by TRIM9 is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family. The TRIM motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region. The protein localizes to cytoplasmic bodies. Its function has not been identified.
