MRO (Maestro) is a nucleolus localized novel protein encoding a HEAT-like repeat containing protein. The HEAT-repeat protein motif consists of ～37?43 amino acids with two interacting anti-parallel α-helical domains and a non-helical region as a separator. It is mapped on chromosome 18q21.
