生化/生理作用

KCTD21 or KCASH2 gene is mapped on to 11q14.1 and is predominantly expressed in cerebellum. It consists of a BTB domain essential for the formation of a Cullin3 ubiquitin ligase complex and a HDAC1 for ubiquitination and degradation. KCTD21 is a cullin 3 adaptor that plays a crucial role in inhibiting histone deacetylase and hedgehog activity in medulloblastoma.
