HIV-1 Tat interactive protein 2, 30 kDa (HTATIP2, CC3, TIP30) is an HIV-1 Tat interacting protein that acts as a tumor suppressor via the repression of genes involved in proliferation and apoptosis. HTATIP2/TIP30 can act as a repressor of ERα-mediated c-Myc transcription in mammary glands and breast cancer cells and inhibit estrogen receptor-mediated transcription in mammary epithelial cells (MEC). HTATIP2/TIP30 controls endocytic downregulation of the EGFR signaling pathway in primary hepatocytes and hepatocellular carcinoma cells.
Aspirin-induced upregulation of HTATIP2 is known to improve survival in hepatocellular carcinoma. Sorafenib-induced downregulation of HTATIP2 promotes cellular invasion and metastasis in mouse models of hepatocellular cancer.

Rabbit polyclonal anti-HTATIP2 antibody is used to tag HIV-1 Tat interactive protein 2 detection and quantitation by immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to determine the presence and roles of HIV-1 Tat interactive protein 2 in the regulation of genes involved in tumor proliferation, cell proliferation and apoptosis.

CC3 (HTATIP2) is a member of the short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) family. It is a novel serine/threonine kinase that phosphorylates the C-terminal domain (CTD) of the largest RNA polymerase II subunit and induces the expression of apoptosis related genes Bad and Siva, as well as metastasis suppressor NM23-H2. It also interacts with an estrogen receptor alpha-interacting coactivator CIA and regulates ERalpha-mediated c-myc transcription.
