生化/生理作用

Ectodysplasin A receptor (EDAR) binds ectodysplasin A (EDA) and uses EDARADD (Ectodysplasin-A receptor-associated adapter protein) as an adapter protein. It activates critical signaling pathways involving NF-κB (Nuclear factor κ B) and JNK (c-Jun N-terminal kinase). The activity of EDAR is essential during the development of eccrine sweat glands, hair and teeth. Mutations in EDAR gene result in hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia.
