Dicarbonyl/L-xylulose reductase (DCXR, P34H) is an enzyme that converts L-xylulose into xylitol and reduces various α-dicarbonyl compounds. DCXR is involved in the uronate cycle of glucose metabolism. Decreased level of DCXR membranous expression may be associated with malignant progression of melanocytic lesions. P34H, an epididymal sperm protein, may be a predictor ofin vitrofertilization outcome.

应用
Anti-DCXR polyclonal antibody is used to tag dicarbonyl/L-xylulose reductase proteins for detection and quantitation by Western blotting and in cells and tissues by immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to study the role of dicarbonyl/L-xylulose reductase proteins in sperm capacitation, xylulose metabolism and the uronate cycle of glucose metabolism.
