The 1-2 Test is a rapid qualitative method for the detection of motileSalmonellain foods, food ingredients and environmental samples. It is based on the observation ofSalmonellaimmobilized in motility medium by polyvalent H (flagellar) antibodies. Immobilization of motileSalmonellaresults in development of well-defined band of cells ImmunoBand. As an AOAC Official Method of Analysis, the 1-2 Test is one of the simplest rapid methods available for the detection ofSalmonella.

原理

The assay incorporates immunodiffusion technology to provide accurate and rapid results following a simple 1 or 2 step enrichment protocol. If present,Salmonellamove through the motility media asSalmonella-specific antibodies diffuse into the media from the opposite direction. The antibodies bind to the targetSalmonellaantigen to form a visually apparent immunoband indicating a positive test result.
