Manganese peroxidase from white-rot fungus (Phanerochaete chrysosporium) is a lignin-modifying peroxidase that catalyzes the oxidation of Mn2+to Mn3+. Mn3+is stabilized by chelators like oxalic acid. Manganese peroxidase has a molecular weight of 40-50kDa and is a glycosylated heme protein.
