Zinc finger protein 408 (ZNF408) is a transcription factor consisting of 720 amino acids. It belongs to the C2H2 zinc finger proteins family. The gene encoding this protein is located on chromosome 11 and consists of five exons.

Zinc finger protein 408 (ZNF408) binds with a high affinity to DNA. It is suggested to have a role in protein-protein interactions for chromatin-mediated gene expression. Mutations in the gene encoding ZNF408 are associated with abnormal retinal vasculogenesis.
