Duffy antigen/chemokine receptor (DARC) or atypical chemokine receptor 1 (ACKR1) functions as an antigen of the Duffy (Fy) blood group system. It has a role in the infection of red blood cells (RBCs) byPlasmodium vivaxand the lysis of RBCs byStaphylococcus aureus. The protein has been shown to be downregulated in colorectal cancer.
