Conserved oligomeric Golgi (COG) complex 2 is also known as LDLC. COG complex is a multi-subunit protein complex, composed of eight distinct subunits. This protein is highly conserved with two heterotrimeric groups, Cog2-Cog3- Cog4 and Cog5-Cog6-Cog7 in its structure.

Conserved oligomeric Golgi (COG) complex 2 regulates membrane trafficking and maintenance of Golgi glycosylation machinery in eukaryotic cells. COG2 is needed for normal Golgi morphology and function. COG2 interacts with p115 (golgin), a vesicle tethering protein that functions in endoplasmic reticulum-Golgi trafficking. This interaction is required for Golgi integrity.
