Native ascorbate oxidase fromCucurbitaspecies. Catalyzes oxidation of ascorbic acid to dehydroascorbic acid. Suitable for eliminating interference of ascorbic acid in clinical assays and for determination of ascorbic acid. Inhibited by azide, dithiocarbamate, and thiocyanate.
Native ascorbate oxidase fromCucurbitaspecies. A multi-copper-containing oxidase that catalyzes oxidation of ascorbic acid to dehydroascorbic acid. AO catalyses the four-electron reduction of dioxygen to water with concominant one-electron oxidation of the reducing organic substrate. Suitable for eliminating interference of ascorbic acid in clinical assays and for determination of ascorbic acid. Inhibited by azide, dithiocarbamate, and thiocyanate.
