Recombinant, human caspase-5 expressed inE. coli. A member of the caspase-1 subfamily of cysteine proteases involved in Fas-mediated apoptosis. Caspase-5 cleavage site is reported to be Asp³¹¹and Asp³³⁰. May also cleave at Asp¹²¹. Suitable for the study of enzyme regulation and kinetics, target substrate cleavage, and inhibitor screening. MW: 10000 and 22000.
