Neuronal calcium sensor 1 (NCS-1) is a Ca²⁺signaling protein.

免疫原

synthetic peptide correspopnding to amino acid residues 161-190 of rat NCS-1. This sequence is completely conserved in mouse, rat, chicken, and human NCS-1. There is a single amino acid substitution in this region forXenopusNCS-1.

生化/生理作用

Neuronal calcium sensor 1 (NCS-1) responds to changes in Ca²⁺levels and has a crucial function in memory and learning. NCS-1 is involved in many regulatory pathways in neurons, and associates with kinases and G-protein coupled receptors.
