Purified mouse monoclonal antibody generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with the specified immunogen and fusing splenocytes with SP2/0 Ag14 mouse myeloma cells. Recognizes the ~185 kDa c-ErbB2/c-neuprotein.
Recognizes the ~185 kDa c-ErbB2/c-Neu in SK-BR-3 cells and breast carcinoma tissue. Does not cross-react with v-ErbB2 or the EGF receptor.
Anti-c-ErbB2/c-Neu (Ab-2), mouse monoclonal, clone 9G6, recognizes the ~185 kDa c-ErbB2/c-Neu SK-BR-3 cells and breast carcinoma. It is validated for IP and IHC on frozen and paraffin sections.

Reconstitute the lyophilized antibody with sterile PBS, pH 7.4, or sterile 20 mM Tris-saline (20 mM Tris containing 0.15 M NaCl), pH 7.4, to yield a final concentration of 100 ?g/ml. Lyophilized antibodies should be reconstituted at 4°C with occasional gentle mixing for at least 2 h. Following reconstitution, refrigerate (4°C) for short-term storage or aliquot and freeze (-20°C) for long-term storage with 0.1% azide. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles of solutions.

Immunoprecipitates the ~185 kDa c-neuprotein and has been reported to stain formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections of human breast carcinomas overexpressing thec-neuprotein. This antibody reacts with a cell surface epitope of c-neubut does not cross-react with the EGF receptor. In one study ductal carcinomasin situdisplaying large-cell, comedo growth type, were stained while none of 16 ductal carcinomasin situof small-cell, papillary, or cribiform growth type were stained by this antibody. Antibody should be titrated for optimal results in individual systems.
