OBAA is a potent inhibitor of phospholipases.
OBAA is a phospholipase A₂inhibitor and prevents the melittin-induced influx of Ca⁺²in trypanosomes. It inhibits the generation of ROS when epithelial and endothelial cells are treated with cholic acid.
