N-20:4 L -Serine (ARA-S), a unique lipoamino acid is endogenous in nature. It is localized to the brain. It has structural resemblance with anandamide, an endocannabinoid.

生化/生理作用

N-20:4 L -Serine (ARA-S) is a signaling lipid that regulates neuronal-type Ca²⁺channels in the brain. ARA-S is known to produce endothelium-dependent arterial vasodilatationin vitro. It is also found to exert neuroprotective action following brain injury.
