一般描述
A potent vasodilator found in normal tissues and blood. Activates nitric oxide synthase. Formed by the decarboxylation of L-histidine. Activation of histamine H1receptors leads to Ca2+mobilization, whereas histamine H2receptor activation stimulates adenylate cyclase activity in neurons. Stimulated time- and concentration-dependent increase in p38 and p42/p44 MAP kinases in DDT(1) MF2 cells.

Activation of histamine H1receptors leads to Ca2+mobilization; whereas, histamine H2receptor activation stimulates adenylate cyclase activity in neurons. Inhibits the synthesis of IL-2 and γ-IFN in peripheral blood mononuclear cells and lipopolysaccharide-induced synthesis of TNF-α in monocytes via H2receptor activation.
