一般描述

Recombinant, human topoisomerase I fused to a His?Tag sequence and expressed inS. frugiperdainsect cells. It catalyzes the relaxation of both positive and negative supercoiled DNAs without the requirement of energy. In addition to DNA replication and transcriptional activation, DNA topoisomerase I also plays a role in pre-mRNA splicing, cell cycle and other gene regulatory pathways during cell growth and development. DNA Topo I is an important target for ant-tumor agents as a result of the fact that is causes single-strand DNA breaks of the type that are present in most cancers.

0.1-1 unit (ng) is sufficient for relaxing 0.5 ?g of pBR322 supercoiled DNA in a 20 ?l reaction.
