一般描述
The HY-LiTE?Jet A1 Fuel ATP Test Kit contains ready-to-use pens for detection of total biological contamination of Jet A1 fuel used in conjunction with the HY-LiTE?2/2A luminometer. Fuel contains small amounts of water and bears risk of microbial contamination. The biomass (e.g. bacteria, fungi) may grow and cause blocking of filters or corrosion of tanks, which is a very expensive issue in terms of unplanned maintenance in the hangar and days for microbiology test results.
Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is detected by reaction with a luciferin/luciferase reagent in buffered solution. The test will detect the metabolic activity of bacteria, yeast and molds, including sulphate reducing bacteria and other anaerobe microorganisms, which are not always detected by traditional growth-based methods.
The test kit is designed to indicate presence of metabolically active biological material, but it is the nature of biology that there may be organisms present in the sample that are not detected by the test procedure. In particular, the results of any test procedure cannot be interpreted to indicate sterility of the sample tested.
