Gentiopicrin is found in gentiana and cephalaria. It exhibits many biological properties, including suppressing expression of NMDA receptors in the anterior cingulate cortex, inhibiting morphine conditioned place preference, and preventing arachidonic acid and PMA-induced superoxide generation.
