4-Chloropyridine-3-carboxylic acid is a building block used in a synthesis of benzocanthinones via tributyltin hydride radical induced cyclization. 4-Chloropyridine-3-carboxylic acid is also used in a synthesis of heterocyclic analogues of xanthone.
